Elancer.ps provides an opportunity to build specific capacities for selected marginalized individuals to get trained on Online Freelancing (OFL), financial management – up to their small size, and legal incorporation. Five training boot-camps on OFL skills and platforms of 25 participants each were conducted so far in Tulkarem, Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron and Gaza. Selected groups of freelancers will receive further support to legally incorporate, build and operate their small financial management systems. In addition they will receive long-term management & business mentorship to actually get OFL contracts and to deliver them up to internationally accepted standards. And hence, this project will leave them after building their capacities, connecting them to the markets and building a track record that allows them to grow.
This project aims to reduce unemployment rates and assisting low income households by facilitating online freelancing among youth and women. This will be accomplished by reducing barriers to entry into this globally growing market of freelancing through increasing knowledge and awareness, creating an online portal/app for matchmaking, providing legal and business training along with mentorship assistance. Also by facilitating the establishment of formal trusted and sustainable legal structures (corporations) that specialize in providing online freelancing services.
